The year 2020 certainly brought many changes to world as we
all knew it.
As 2021 rolls on Narranghi Olive Grove situated in the
beautiful Braidwood District in the Southern Tablelands of NSW has also
experienced significant changes. Drought and fierce fires surrounded us from
November 2019 through to late January 2020. These conditions meant that our 2020
crop did not eventuate as it succumbed to the heat and smoke from the fires.
Our family partners Diane & Warren decided to call it “quits” and retired
to the North Coast….
And then there was COVID – enough said!
On a good note, in February 2020 the heavens opened and
after 400mls of beautiful, soaking rains our olive trees lifted their heads and
new growth began. Spring brought us trees laden with bud and then flower and as
summer rolls on now in 2021 there is evidence of olives beginning their growth
towards a late May/June harvest.
Fingers and toes remained crossed until 2021
harvest is in the crates and ready for processing!
Our olive harvest will occur in May/June. After processing the oil will be settled in stainless steel vats for 4-6 weeks before bottling. Our liquid gold will be available around late July.
